Basically, when you have no experience and want to get a quick buck here on MC-M you can't. Many people say "Work for vouches first!" but nobody seems to be willing to try people out for jobs such as editing. Is there a good way to gain experience in a field that can be shown to possible clients?

If you have 0 experience at all:

Build yourself at least a small portfolio for what you want to sell. You might have to work free, but in one way that's good because it gives you options. Let's say you want to make trailers. Either find someone on mcm who wants a free trailer, or make one for a fictional server. Same goes for logos, websites, etc. When you have a few pieces in the portfolio (doesn't have to be many), start offering your services for cheap. I'm talking really cheap, as in barely-worth-your-time-cheap. This will help your customers find you, but what will really get you work will involve finding the customers yourself. Keep an eye on the forum, and be quick to contact people who post a request. In this, make sure not to be robotic (like service teams), but actually read what's requested and know the details before they are needed (if they are in the post). This won't get you paid a lot in money, but it will get you experience that will allow you to charge more later. Because of this, always do your best, and try to innovate. Build your own style. When you get better, slowly raise your prices to a more reasonable level. If you managed to build your own style, or in any other way can stand out of the crowd, you'll find that people will start to come to you. At this point, you're done!

This might not be quick, but it's a simple method that will pay off, if followed through.
