So recently I've been wandering the forums and I've noticed a certain amount of users have a lot of people claiming that they've seen them scam and they have a lot of proof, but they never make the report. Or if they do make the report, the scammer pays the money back and then a month later another report is made with the same reason. This is kind of worrying me and I hope this suggestion can lower the scamming rate down a bit.

What's my suggestion? My suggestion is that we add what's called a "Caution Tag". A Caution Tag is basically a tag that is given to a user for having more then 2 scam reports on them and in the scam reports the user claimed to be scamming but paid the money back. A user could also receive a caution tag if they've scammed more then 2 people and never replied to the user until a scam report was made and they paid the money back.

What would a Caution Tag look like? It would look something like this except more yellow with black lines going diagonally across it. There would also be some sort of icon that would look like this next to it.

I'd love to hear improvements and feedback on this suggestion! If you agree or disagree with it, please tell me why in the replies and we can maybe improve this possible feature as well.

I think they should get banned either way-returning money or not
I can see your point, but no one is perfect and everyone deserves an opportunity for a second chance. (Or at least an opportunity to fix their mistakes)

Thank you!
Andrew suggests that you need to be worthy of the tag, as he said, you need to have 2 scam reports against you. Or, you could've scammed but have returned the money at one point. Whatever the case, there must be a valid reason for you to receive the tag.

(Example) If two claims are made against me claiming "Choo scammed me 30$ on skype!" and both members provide proof of the scam, that does not mean I will receive the caution tag, it says on my pinned post on my profile that I do not use skype and that I can myself provide proof that I am not the user on skype by posting a screenshot of my skype id.

That's exactly what I mean.[DOUBLEPOST=1515631813][/DOUBLEPOST]
Imma quote Doge here

After a user is banned for scamming they cannot repay. It is such an easy way to get back in and scam more
Again, that's not what I mean. I'm saying when they're talking on a scam report thread; not after they've been banned.

Certainly, but they can still scam. They did it once, why not again?

Well if they returned the money they scammed then they've fixed their mistake. It would be harder to do it again because of the tag.[DOUBLEPOST=1515631981][/DOUBLEPOST]
seems like a lot of hastle after paying back, what if it was an accident? Also Louwtjie stated above this was already denied.
I find it very hard to believe that someone "accidentally" scams another user and then doesn't talk to them until a scam report is opened.

by this I mean accidental chargeback or they were away or suddenly had to get off for a day or night.
If they accidentally chargebacked then they should've informed the user that what they did was an accident and immediately pay back that user. If they left all the sudden I can't see that happening very often when they know they owe someone money.

No. This has been suggested a dozen times and denied each time. Why? because it gives FUCKALL information. All it tells people is to be careful dealing with a user. Thus, if you want to fuck someone over, you do a small deal with them and then open a scam report on it that seems legit at first glance, but isn't really. I've seen people open scam reports because someone they ordered something from didn't reply for an hour. An hour is NOTHING. If people will open scam reports for such a tiny delay, they'll open them for anything, and defamation of users like this isn't gonna help.

If you wanna check if a user is safe to deal with, check their rep and check the scam reports yourself, so that you can read it and see if it's relevant to your case.
It's not the site's job to wrap you in swaddling at the cost of other members.[DOUBLEPOST=1515632254][/DOUBLEPOST]Final note: Don't even bother trying to change my mind, I will ALWAYS oppose this. And yes I've gotten scammed several times myself, and I haven't changed my mind. Don't think you will.

m6 has to approve the scam reports before they are live so that wouldn't happen.

This is only for users that have admitted to scamming but paid the money back, not just for anyone that has a scam report opened on them.

+1. I like the idea of the tag. Could prevent a few bad situations.

There is no middleground for guilt in scamming in my opinion, either you did or didn't. If a scam report was made against me and M6 said that I had to pay back within 24 hours and I comply to pay them back then I didn't scam and shouldn't be punished for it, it can just be considered to be a misunderstanding. If I get 24 hours to pay back the money and I don't, then I'm a scammer and am permanently banned.

I don't understand the point of this suggestion really, but I'm just glad it's unique. Can you explain?

I know this isn't his suggestion, but it's similar. A 'CAUTION' tag for users with a scam report open on them? Just so you know that they have a scam report, and could potentially be exit scamming, or what not.
