Change the name of the advertising forum

I strongly believe it should be changed to "advertising services" primarily because many members misuse such that they use it as a place to advertise themselves or their personal services which is most certainly not the intended use. The forums correct is actually where organizations such as marketing agencies, server lists, etc go to advertise their advertising services if that makes sense..

I honestly agree with this heavily. I have been on the advertising forum so much looking for some services to grow my server, youtube, etc but have come across people just advertising there links and stuff.

Yeah. Its gotten to the point where I've seen skin makers and service teams. Its quite obnoxious though it isn't exactly theirs but the administrations for not making it clear.

Since this thread was made I have made a dismissable notice in the advertising forum which I think is a much more elegant solution.

The Advertising forum is already a part of the service category. It doesn't make sense for us to rename it to Advertising Services without us also changing every other service in that category to be called ____ Services.

What do you think?

I would not say that changing one forum like that requires you to do the same to all of the other forums in that section unless they have the same issue, though I do see where you are coming from.

Perhaps another solution would be to put a notification up describing the true purpose of the forum? A specific rule for misuse of the forum?

There are many solutions and the one I have listed in this thread is merely one, I do agree that there are potential issues, as you stated above with it, but I think this is certainly an issue and it needs to be dealt with in some way.

That looks perfect to me. I've put a watch on the forum to see if that helps the issue.

Now that there is a notification aswell as plenty of example threads to go on I think noone would have an excuse to misuse the section by self-promoting, if they did however, punishment isn't really suitable to be discussed in this thread, thats more for the staff team to decide I would believe.

Otherwise, yes. For this forum to be effective I do believe that is is necessary to at the very least delete the threads and make the OP aware of their violation (if they somehow didn't bother to read the notification or the other threads in the forum).

As I have stated earlier, since this suggestion was made I have gone through and added a notice to the forum which seems to have mostly resolved the initial issue.
