Change the private og section

Alright so. The private og section. We all know how bad it is. There’s so many people that have access that shouldn’t so here’s what I propose.

Alright so, basically i was scrolling through old suggestions that have been pending for a while, and i came across this comment from when mojang had a small lock wave:

You know, in some forums the only way a new member is allowed into the forum is through one, a predetermined amount paid and two, a recommendation through a members already in the secure forum. Active and trusted members from other forums are often given the privilege of joining a premium forum like this.
I could see a system similar to this one being adapted for the MC-Market; first a secure pool of members are allowed to use and view the new board, this board has minimum requirements and prerequisites for it's members to meet before being allowed an invitation. This board would have only trusted members who where serious about what they do. If a member is toxic they are voted out or banned, would be rare considering it would be hard to get into a board like this.

This person proposes that the og section could be like forums that only allow certain people to pay or get recommended to the forum.


I propose this: the high staff and owners hand-pick a few well-known, highly reputable members to originally start this new private og section. From there, there should be a private section on this private og section that is only accessible by these few members (i say it should be about 20 members) where they say specific people who should be added. The reason this shouldn’t be open to all is because it will end up like last time we made a private og section. People that get added and then they add their friends who are barely known and then those people add their friends. Now, i know that u might be wondering. What if these og members all get banned or become inactive? Now i have a solution. You could do either of these 2 things.
One: the original members can recommend people that should be able to recommend other people. These people would be able to recommend people to join but not be able to recommend people that can recommend other people.
Two: mcm keeps track of the first, say, 40 or so people these original people add, and if one of the original is banned or goes inactive, one of these 40 can be added to that list of people who can recommend.


Now, the staff shouldn’t just pick anyone. It should he highly reputable, well known members.

I don’t really see the point in this. I don’t disagree with a revamp but I disagree with this revamp.

But it was a joke lol. I just think it would be a better option of a private og section because nobody uses the current one because so many random people have access that there’s really no point.

Also, I don’t know or talk to any people besides doge lol. It’s not a friend group.

I mean, a change would be nice but I doubt people would even use it religiously no matter how you revamp it. Most of the sellers I’ve known just sell their private stuff offsite instead, and have been for a while.

If people want to make invite-only friend group circles to sell their Minecraft accounts then there is nothing stopping them from doing so through discord servers, which seems to be how this is happening nowadays. I don't want to be making changes like this that would require custom development when Minecraft account sales are far from a priority for us.
