Changes to scam reports

Scam reports take forever to get approved and seeing as Mick doesn't want to bring on any new staff for scam reports, I propose that MCM makes the opening posts of scam reports read-only but visible whilst they are pending approval by M6. That way, whilst we can't reply to the scam report itself until it is approved, we know that there is a s/r on a user even if it is yet to be approved.

The reason scam reports are private and need to be approved is to filter out bogus scam reports made out of petty revenge. This used to be a thing. In the past, we'd often have scam reports open on people that made scam reports, by the people that the original scam report was on.
I do concur that we need at least someone able to replace M6 when he cannot be online, but this is not the solution.

I agree with that, tbh. It's a bit like rep however. You still get people revenge-repping and you'd get the same with any system.

I guess if this was implemented, people would be able to come to their own judgement as to whether it is a "revenge scam report".

Thats not always clear though, and honestly the only reason this suggestion was made is the current apparent absence of M6. I've since heard from Bucketofsloths that scam reports ARE being replied to but not being made public.

We've now got 3 scam resolvers working on scam reports to ensure that we're not behind in the future. It is absolutely necessary to keep scam reports private until they're approved by scam resolvers since it usually includes personal information.
