I think that members should be able to get alerts when tagged in shoutbox, however this should be possible to disable. I've seen other shitty competitor sites do it. It'd be nice to have. In the alert, you should be able to click back on it and view a small segment of the chat where you were tagged.

Yes, I understand this was declined already, but that was when Bebosny was owner.

I've been looking into getting something like that done, but it'd require some custom development as by default Siropu takes you to the message in the chat archive (which normal users don't have access to). Though yes, I think it'd be cool to have implemented.

Why couldn't users have access to a chat archive?

Im pretty sure I already get some form of notifications if im tagged in SB... Just not basic alerts

Those are desktop notifications, but they don't work if you're offline/on mobile.

When I first implemented chat by siropu we experimented by having this enabled. It was spammy, annoying, and generally just useless. If someone wants to talk to you and you're not online, then they can send you a PM. I can't really think of any situation where you'd need an alert for being tagged in a chat message.
