Trying to steal credit from others, it won't be patched lol. It's a built in BB Code for the forum.

Or so you say. The chat system processes BbCodes partially as well. Some BbCodes are blocked like the code or quote box. Not too hard to make a restriction with color.

If that's the case, why hasn't this been "restricted" ages ago?

I don’t think it has ever been a priority. Though considering abuse such as fake whispers...might patch it. Still requires custom development as some upgrades include the ability to use color.

As Jayson has said a fix to this will require custom development and for such a minor thing I don't think that it is necessary considering just how much we have to do in our queue.
