For $49 a month. You can get an E3, 32GB RAM. No traffic limit and great DDoS protection. From So you start. $90 is a hell of a lot for a 8GB, intel atom Dedi.

It may be "crap" but that the real cost to purchase a fully managed node. It not uncommon for a fully managed system to come at $50-$100/month MORE than the original configuration costs.

The dedi is worth $20 a month. Going to be kind and say $30. Does that mean that someone would be paying you $70 a month, to manage it. Most system admins here, like me, will setup multicraft for $5 or less. For $20 most of us, would install multicraft, setup a webserver, SQL, Teamspeak, firewall etc. I manage quite a few servers, and they dont need to pay me $70 a month. Just a little something when they do need help. Which isnt that often.

What you doing (correct me if I am wrong) is "on call" management. Meaning if something breaks or something they "ring you up" and you quote for the job and go from there.

While a fully managed provider would have 24/7 techs monitoring, patching, updating, and etc while you manage your business/community.

It like getting a person to drive and maintain your car vs. going to the mechanic when you need an oil change and etc.

What you offer is better. But if someone has $70 to pay for this, are they really going to wait a 8GB dedi. You would be better off selling a 64-128GB dedi for $150 a month. Most of us here are here for MC servers. Those servers that have that kind of money are big servers, than need lots of RAM, and high end dedis. Small servers that use only 8GB. Wont have that kind of money, even if they did they would likely want more than 8GB.

Yea I do agree what you means. Your are better off selling something MUCH larger like a 64GB machine and throw the overhead cost in there.
