In my honest opinion 5 Euro / GB is in line with the market. Our goal is to expand the line of features we can offer to our clients. This does not come in cheap. If you also factor in transaction fees, VAT (BTW) and server costs a small margin of profit remains.

I could of course buy a bag of potato's at my nearest supermarket, hook them together to power my raspberry pi and offer you that $1 hosting.
