I'm a composer, and I write more in the direction of video games and television, rather than songs.
I was wondering, however, how you do product these kinda songs as I'd love to get into it.
I've got a Launchpad Pro (Midi Controller), which I know might come in handy.
I've also got Ableton Live Suite and Logic Pro X.

Here's as basic as my process gets:
Ideas (music, lyrics, melodies)
Plug that into the software (consists of Ableton Live 9, various vsts, vocal editing software)
Mix it,
Send it off to be mastered (the mix is more important than the master. Good mix, good master)
Then the song itself is done. It's not as easy as it looks. It's actually quite challenging and has lots of emotion that goes into it.
