Christmas is overrated

Since it’s the 24th of november I thought: “why not share my unpopular opinion about christmas?”.
So let’s start this discussion.

Christmas is overrated:

• The most cringy Christmas films on tv with their fake cosiness and happy family
• It isn’t snowy at my place, so it doesn’t feel like ‘the films’
• Our family is like half broken so bye ‘happy family together feeling’
• Only the happy things get on tv while many people just ‘celebrate’ it alone
• I just hate all these ‘unboxing together’ things and stuff.

Opinions? Maybe I’m just introvert?

Edit: so it is an unpopular opinion.
Maybe I should just relax and try to enjoy Christmas. It’s probably not as bad as I stated

It's a magic time for those who are lucky and sadly, for those who have broken families, it's a reminder of that. I'm truly sorry you feel this way. It's a tough time to get past. Hope you'll enjoy a little gift on my end to remind you that it's a time of sharing and caring for those around you.

I get what you are saying but a lot of your complaints are about Christmas movies not necessarily Christmas itself. I am sorry that your family isn't together and I hope regardless you can find some spirt during the holiday season.

Christmas is only fun if you embrace it, you have managed to list every negative thing you can think of but haven't even thought to look at the positive side

Presuming you're alone this Christmas:

• Christmas sales still allow you to get discounts and buy yourself items you need or want even if you don't want to wrap them
• People are often far more generous and thoughtful around Christmas, increasing donations and help to those who have less
• Christmas films can be very entertaining - home alone, for example, has very little Christmas spirit and is very funny
• Lots of opportunities to volunteer and meet new people

I agree. It's one of the loneliest times of the year if you don't have anyone to spend it with.

Yeah this is actually true.
I was a bit pessimistic here. Maybe a challenge for next year to enjoy things better?

Also Christmas is good and the mood makes me feel happy having lots of people around me in a jolly mood unlike rest of the year.

not that I myself am very jolly but seeing others happy makes me happy, also fun to think back to memories of past Christmas's because my family would always get together with relatives until past couple years where we stay at home and have a feast which is very nice also.
