On several occasions ill be scrolling through the sections on the forums, and constantly see in the "new posts", people offering to buy accounts/other items from a user who is banned, my suggestion is, upon banning a user, all of their threads created get locked/closed to avoid people aimlessly bidding/commenting on threads which you may as well say are dead.

what EpicFooF said is a way better option. Threads should not be closed just because the user is banned. locking them is a way better option, and this should only be done in marketplace sections. Discussion sections should not be locked.

I am confused. Locking and closing threads means the same thing?

It's as simple as being able to see a user's banned to know not to deal with them. If you want a particular thread of a banned member to be locked I'm sure you can report it and the moderation team will handle it.

By closing a thread he means to remove it.

I mean it says clearly,
"User has been banned for scamming."

There has been many occasions where someone still buys from a banned user who scammed and the person buying is oblivious, and gets scammed again. Maybe make the threads "Hidden" so they can't be seen anymore.

NEUTRAL

Positives:
- Stops people aimlessly bidding.

Negatives:
- May end needed discussions.

CONCLUSION:
Only lock marketplace threads from them if they are banned.

Threads posted by users who are banned will automatically sink to the bottom over time while new threads are created. I don't see any real reason for us to lock the threads when discussions may still be happening or input may still be useful to other people.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
