Players who won Cobalt competitions each received a one-time-usage Cobalt cape codes. While that list only contained 8, that was really a list of the only known users to redeem their capes. Many came back at later points in time to redeem their capes, but each cape in existence means a Cobalt competition winner.
You can't obtain them anymore. They no longer do the Cobalt competitions.Unless u r a hardcore cobalt player, you aren't getting the cape D: but at least you can buy 2012-2016 cape codes (and those lame Optifine ones)

As I said, there were plenty of people who won the codes a while ago but did not redeem them until recently. From what I know there were 18 Cobalt competitions, meaning there is 1 unused code left out there. Someone can prove me wrong if I am, that's just my knowledge.
I wouldn't know who has the last Cobalt cape code. Cobalt capes attached to accounts are easily worth $800+ alone ignoring all other typical statistics (TID, past ownership, other capes, bans, etc.). A Cobalt code, if obtained ever, would easily go for $1,500+ bare minimum.

Fox (has a cobalt cape) told me he bought 3 of CEO who had 3 spare codes, and used one on Fox gave one to Nobleman, and is saving the other. He may or may not be the one who redeemed / sold it I don't know.
That was him scamming. He and Nobleman got their codes free off someone somehow (He legit told me by signing up for the KKK, no joke). He doesn't have another Cobalt cape code. Neither does Nobleman. If Nobleman ever says he has a Cobalt code for sale, it's a scam.
No, but that's actually another valid reason why #17 came up.
The way it shows up to NameMC users is when the user actually goes to their minecraft.net account and makes the Cobalt cape active, thus caching it to the Mojang API system, which is what NameMC runs off of. If I was to claim a Cobalt code right now but never actually wear it, it would never show up.
oh, is that why 2011 capes keep getting more on namemc?
Yes, exactly. Users who added them but never used them. Honestly most are popping up because people are cracking 2011 accounts and activating them, caching them to the Mojang API system and increasing those numbers.
