Coding... help me <3

Alright so I've started a lesson code academy and I am literally only like 2% done i'm just learning very basic commands like .length and strings and console commands. I really want to open a Minecraft server but since I do not have much money code it myself for much cheaper, I know it will still be expensive but not paying a dev would be easier. I was just wondering the best and fastest way would be for me to learn some basic java, I am willing to spend some money but I want to code most plugings by myself.

The server I want to create would either be an hcf server or factions server, I just need basic staff plugins and things needed for factions and hcf

First. Learn Java before Bukkit and it will take a while. It's not just like a 2 week thing.

If codeacadamey isn't your thing, try Khanacademy's programming track, it offers a slightly different approach.

I honestly recommend Youtube videos. One of the best tutorials is pogostick29dev. He is a kid but he is very talented.

Pogostick29dev is pretty alright to be honest. The thing is, thenewboston has a lot more on the basics of Java which is key in developing plugins and such. If you decide to go down my route, then you'll get 1-1 support but it's also not free which is the one negative. Good suggestion though! I'm glad you didn't mention BCBros, the programming practices are cringe worthy :/.

To be a worthwhile developer to hire, what all do you need to know? Walshy

• Basic computer science (Binary, hexadecimal, logic gates and the basics of hardware etc.).
• A primary understanding of basic algebra and numeracy.
• The programming language that you are being hired to develop in and it's syntax to a decent degree of proficiency.
• The task you're being hired to do (DUH)

For now I really just want to learn bukkit coding so I can create a minecraft server, but in highschool (next year i go to highschool) I am going to take a programming class and learn java, but before I do that I just want to learn the basics so I am not terrible in the class

Yeah, pogostick29dev just hops straight into bukkit. He does really do the "basics" of java.

If you want YouTube thenewboston is ok but does teach some bad practices such as String args[]
I recommend the official tutorials or tutorial point for Java
