Buy a book on Java. Separate it entirely from Minecraft. Don’t think about MC at all when you’re learning. Once you have mastered java, move on to the other languages. The best way to learn programming is by using a well written book. I’d highly recommend “Head First Java”.

I'd suggest you just take a udemy course, there cheap and help out a lot.
