Color Switching {PROOF}

Okay. So not too long ago I was talking to Doge, and he said that they may just have to require TID for color changes. I was really pissed at that because all my colors are either gifted (by other people so no TID) or were purchased using a deleted email that I no longer have access to. So, I came up with a valid option.

I think a very valid way to get the necessary proof w/o having to create a custom addon just for MCM is to require a gif/video. This video would be put in either a form of it's own or in the support request section to get your color changed. You would have this video showing you log into your account, click on user upgrades, and scroll up and down. This would show that you hadn't faked/inspect-element anything and were being legit.

Another way to go is maybe to actually go ahead with the custom-addon. That would be really costly and I am sure BeBos doesn't want to go down that route - but pleeeeease, don't require TID.

I don't like the idea, it's not a valid form of proof as it can be easily faked. I don't understand why you can't ask the user who bought it for you what the TID is. If they spent money for you, I'd expect for you guys to be some sort of friends.

That's a great idea! I don't see any way of faking it.

There's multiple ways of faking it. Someone can record them refreshing the page, stop the recording and inspect element it to make it look like they own the said upgrade. They can also ask a friend with the upgrade to just record themselves and inspect element the name.

Alright, I'm gonna say it.

A GIF/video can still be faked. Sure, it's not likely someone would go through the trouble, but it's not impossible to falsify a GIF/video.

Doesn't MCM have a database which stores all of the users purchases for statistics?
Like isn't there a way to look up purchases?
If not, that needs to be implemented, as that would be the first step to making a custom add-on to switch colors, or getting staff to manually change it.

Jeez I know, but I am just thinking, brainstorming, of ways to avoid needing TID. I'd have wasted a lot of money - I can't access any of my TIDS. (they are on a deleted email.)

I don't actually need proof of transaction if you're just switching colors. I only need it if you purchased something but it didn't go through for some reason. I assume Doge just confused the 2 a bit.

I'd also like to have an option for you guys where you can switch colors yourself. It's definitely not priority right now and our usual developer is busy at this moment.

I'm going to go ahead and archive this. There's already a thread in the pending section which asks for users being able to pick colors. This will be implemented eventually.
