What is Senior Team? What does the Commission Manager position entail?
Senior Team was created in April 2018 and is a growing team of professional freelancers who all pride themselves in delivering high quality products to their clients. We strive to ensure that product quality is high, and that we go above and beyond your expectations as a client. We carry courage to do something new, making us the number 1 service team which clients know and trust.
Commission Managers work as the bridge between clients and freelancers at Senior Team. Put very basically, they are there to oversee commissions, assist clients and freelancers as needed, and solve any issues that may occur. We expect our Commission Managers to be very active, helpful, and professional in all tickets, and to really try to be personable and build a connection with clients.
What are the perks of being a Commission Manager? Is this paid? Why should I work for you?
For starters, this is a paid position, and we recently upped Commission Manager pay due to impressive performance and an increase in tickets. Commission Managers are paid 4% of the commission value for commissions under $100, and 2.5% for tickets over $100. There is also lots of room to get promoted within Senior Team. Many opportunities are given only to Commission Managers or give Commission Managers priority in applying. The senior management team truly values the skillset and professionalism that our Commission Manager team has. This has led to opportunities including Premade Coordinator positions to assist in the launch of Dollar Builds, producer positions on the Senior Studios Marketplace Team, and opportunities to get promoted within the Commission Manager team including as a Commissions Quality Inspector, Staff+, and even project management positions. There are also other project manager positions including Head of Socials, Head of Applications, etc. Majority of our project managers are currently or were Commission Managers at Senior Team prior to receiving their position.
Senior Team is the number 1 service team in the industry and is very well-known. We have worked with many notable clients from large Minecraft servers to YouTubers, and we have been able to do this due to our team. By working for us, you will gain many skills and can grow throughout the company, as mentioned above. We are seeing a decent increase in tickets, which is why we are re-opening these applications. We are also constantly improving our operations and expanding to new markets (most recently the hosting market). This also means that promotions are occurring faster than before. With faster promotions, an expanding team due to more tickets, and expanding throughout different sectors of the Minecraft industry, there are many opportunities for growth.
How does the application process work?
Our application process is broken down into three parts/stages: initial questions, additional/scenario questions, and document questions. First, once you open your application, a new channel will appear and will prompt you to answer the initial questions for the Commission Manager position. These range from pretty simple questions regarding your time zone and availability, to some more in-depth questions regarding your skills and experience. This is not meant to be super scary though, since we are just looking to see what experience/skills you have, but more importantly, the effort you are willing to put into these questions. The full list of questions can be found in a dedicated channel in our applications server.
If you pass the review of your initial questions, you move on to the next stage which includes additional/scenario questioning. Instead of one default template of questions, you will be paired with one of our Application Managers who will ask you additional questions based on the initial questions, as well as some scenario-based questions. With this stage, we are looking to fill in gaps for areas that we want you to expand upon, as well as looking to see how you would handle certain situations as a Commission Manager. This is composed of about 3-5 different “groups” of questions, with each group consisting of about 3 questions that relate to one another. Since we only send one group at a time and wait for your response before sending another, your response time is also being evaluated. While we don’t expect or want immediate responses (still focus on the quality of your answers), we are looking to ensure that your availability is not an issue.
Finally, there are the document questions. Once you get to this point, it is pretty much smooth sailing. These questions reference multiple important documents that are commonly referred to at Senior Team. We ask about 11 questions and expect you to read through the provided documents to find the answers. All of the answers are very clearly explained, so the focus here is to ensure that you read the documents.
After this, each application goes into a final review period. Overall, this process takes about three weeks maximum. Initial review can take up to a week (unless applications are closed, then they are put on hold), additional/scenario questions take around 3-5 days, document questions take about 1-2 days, and final review can take up to a week. Once you pass the final review of all of your answers, you get to join the team as a Commission Manager!

Hear from some current Commission Managers
Hello! I joined the Commission Management Team as a Trainee in October. What kept me motivated specifically in Senior Team was the effort they put in me. There are always Commission Managers willing to answer my newbie questions. Additionally, I always receive feedback on the tickets I claim. This feedback helps me to improve my communications skills. I was so passionate that I couldn’t claim more tickets - I had reached my limit. I got promoted to the Commission Manager position in December. It was even more exciting than my initial acceptance as I was now able to handle VIP tickets, got my ticket limit increased, and had lots of other opportunities. Besides personal skills and perks, I also met new friends. I enjoy chatting and playing video games with them. At the beginning of February, I applied for a Project Management position - Head of Applications, one of the positions offered to us - CMs. That brings us to the present. I am now a Project Manager. I would’ve never been able to achieve any of the positions above without the help of my fellow Commission Managers.
As an commission manager, answering client inquiries and assisting clients with their commissions providing clients with the best experience/quality to come back for more is top priority. I really enjoy interacting with clients and ensuring that they are well informed of everything! This job taught me a lot of useful skills, it allowed me to experience more than just customer service but an insight into what different departments has to offer and the amazing talented freelancers. Whilst gaining more experience here at ST, I got an opportunity to be more involved with ST as a CQI! ST has many intriguing opportunities/experiences to offer and I can't wait to experience them!
As one of Senior Teams’ Heads of Quality Assurance and the author of this post, I wanted to share my story of my time at Senior Team. I joined the team as a CM Trainee back on January 27th, 2021. Immediately, I had a great first impression. I had fellow CMs, and a couple managers reaching out to me to congratulate me and offer me help if I ever needed it. I worked hard and was promoted to a full-fledged Commission Manager on April 19th. This was later than normal (normally promotions are around 1 month), but that was due to some IRL issues with. Even with these issues, the management was very supportive and willing to let me take some time to address those issues.
In May, I was given the opportunity to become a Premade Coordinator for what later became Dollar Builds. This opportunity was initially only offered to CMs, which shows how much management values the skills of CMs. This allowed me to have more contact with upper management and was a unique experience to help them launch a new brand. I also was in charge of social media for this new brand, which meant I was able to join the Senior Socials Team. On June 13th, I made the next step up the Commission Manager ladder. I was promoted to a Commissions Quality Inspector. This position developed a love of quality assurance. I helped ensure that the quality of Senior Team was kept at a high level and helped out newer CMs or clients with any issues in tickets.
In mid-August, I was offered my first Project Manager position. Project Managers are all of the managers right below senior management that manage different aspects of the company. This includes Quality Assurance, Senior Hosting, etc. Based off of my work on the socials team for Dollar Builds, I was promoted to Head of Social Media. This was an amazing job that allowed me to manage my own team and improve my communication and collaboration skills.
Finally, we get to where I am today: Head of Quality Assurance. After I made the decision to get some fresh blood into the Head of Socials position and go back to my true passion, quality assurance, I was offered the opportunity to become a second Head of Quality Assurance alongside MoMo. I have been in this position ever since and have continued to help improve the company and many personal skills. Without taking that first step to become a CM Trainee, I would have never gotten to this point.
