With the new theme of this forum being Community ran I think it would be appropriate to add a new rank called Community Advocates. These people would have no extra abilities except for a banner that say "Community Advocate." The whole purpose of this rank would be to have a group of people who the community thinks would make a good leader for the community. They would be responsible to report to staff what the entire community may want changed, added, removed, etc. Think of these members as the voice of the community.

The process of making a community advocate would be structured in a way where the majority of MCM would have to agree on this member getting the rank. What would happen is once the staff team feels a member is deserving of the rank a poll would be created with there name and the community would vote if they want this user to get the rank. The poll would run for 4 days and after that the outcome would be determined.

I think this is a great way leaders who are in-touch with the community could have a role to better this forum. Also, I'm making this because I want to be one myself :p

What do you think Ajdin about my post? Agree with it?
As announced in the announcement. You guys are already going to be running MC-Market for the most part. I'm not sure why we should get another person who could possibly feel higher than the normal members.

I'd suggest giving me a chance to see how I'm going to deal with community input before suggesting things like this.
Gives me the impression that you guys think I'm not listening :c

why make it more complicated? it'll just make kids salty against each other. intrinsically, the most prominent members are the ones who are actively trying to better it: they don't need labels. tbh the community probably wouldn't even vote for the most competent member but rather the one with whom they are familiar/friends.

the gist: true advocates contribute for the purpose of contributing. i can tell you tried, but it's superfluous.

shit. Ajdin you posted like a minute before me i cri evertim

I like the idea, I don't really think there would be that many benefits, but it would be like the titles you had under your name (Ex: Active member, Well-Known Member), but custom titles for premium/supreme really made people not care about them/make them meaningless. It'd be neat to have something like that, that does get a bit more attention.

But I don't really like the system for choosing users that qualify, because then it would turn into a popularity contest.

I like the idea as long as the community gets to decide who becomes an advocate. Otherwise randoms are going to get this rank.

That's the whole point. You want members who are popular to get the rank. You don't want some random too.[DOUBLEPOST=1459564050][/DOUBLEPOST]Because popular members = well-known members.

It's like having some random join the site and immediately get the rank because the staff like them lol[DOUBLEPOST=1459564290][/DOUBLEPOST]The only con I see with this is if an advocate decides to get a bit edgy one day and scams, drama will ensue with people blaming McM for the scam.

I just don't really see the point of this.

If a good point can be made as to why this should exist I'll agree to it but until then it just seems like it'd be there to stroke the ego of whoever receives it.

The community as a whole should represent themselves through the suggestion forums and through an open dialogue with staff.

No, everyone should be able to have their say in decisions, and Bosny said that's how it's going to be. We don't need to make suggestions and then have someone else give those suggestions to staff. Bosny has been open and has said he will listen to the community so this is completely unnecessary. Anyone can post in the suggestion forum and that's all we need. The suggestion section is the "community advocate."
