This just happened to me and the user impersonating me was able to scam Swicy
This is a method that came to my attention on a different forum and I guess it hasn't been posted here.
Since the introduction of the ability to change your discord tag using Nitro, somebody has figured out a way to use the Fortnite method on discord. If you are unfamiliar with this method, it involves using a cyrillic that looks like an English letter in order to make your name look OG when it really isn't.
The example I saw of this was somebody with the discord "ay#0001" being impersonated by somebody with "аy#0001." These might appear the same, however, the "a" in the second discord is a cyrillic.
The legitimacy of a Discord can be verified by copy and pasting the discord into google. One search brings up the word "ay," while the other brings up various results from another language.

Second: https://www.google.com/search?q=аy&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-b-1-ab
I appreciate your time, and hope that this doesn't happen to anybody else.
Thanks,
Misaki
