This is a very talented community with many different skills from each person, this got me thinking. We're a minecraft based community on some powerful forum software, this software allows for custom smiley faces, however we're still on the basics of XenForo smileys.
With that said I would like to suggest a community wide contest where members have one week to create a very detailed and nice looking minecraft related smiley face. The best ones would be used as default smileys forum wide.
Of course, there would be a need for many different smiley types and thus, players should be able to submit one smiley for each smiley type:

:rofl: > Laughing
:tdown: > Thumbs Down
:tup: > Thumbs Up
> Whistle
> Wink
> Sad
> Angry
> Confused
> Cool
> Tongue
> Big Grin
> Eak
> Oops

The amount of creativity the community could put into something like this would be amazing, the outcome would be amazing and the forum would get a better feel, I would think.
