Hi there,
I'd like to suggest MC-Market to let the community have a voice. As we know, a lot of mayhem has been going on in the last few weeks and no one is doing anything to help fix it. I propose a solution. Help the community and listen to what we have to say. All of this in order to help improve MC-Market.

EDIT: To clear it up, the suggestions that we (members) provide, must be of suffice and not some bullshit.

I agree, you can't say nothing on here without getting a warning.

Correct, a punishment for a suggestion to improve the forums is harsh. The market won't grow without the community, and the community won't stay if they don't listen to us (to a certain extent)

A lot of what the community "has to say" has been stupid, ignorant, and a prime kindling for flame.
I'd like to think those posts were removed in hopes of preventing an all out forest fire from spreading throughout the forums.

In the interest of not burning the site to ashes, I can't say I agree with you...
I can't say I entirely disagree either.

There were certain steps that should have been taken to prevent, or at least limit the sources of arrogance that seem to feed off each other when presented with a simple/insignificant problem with MCM.
Communication....
If the whole staff team were kept up to date and informed on everything other members of staff were doing, we'd be taking one step in the right direction.
The final step would then be communicating that information to the members of the forums.

Doing those two simple things...
Could have prevented a massive amount of "he-said, she said", "well, this must be happening now", "oh I guess now he/she's doing this", "I think I remember...", "that must be what he/she is thinking" conspiracy posts.
Which would have, in turn, reduced the amount of unhelpful garbage threads needing to be snuffed out.

I don't want to see posts like that breaking out like a disease, every time something unfavorable occurs on MCM.
Their removal is necessary.
Though a warning?
I do think that's a bit over the top.
Because while they're removal is necessary, so was their being posted.

I have to agree on some aspects of your reply, so let me clear this up a bit.
This suggestion is to let the community have a voice in the decisions the staff makes as a team. In the recent events, staff members weren't notified, except for 1 or 2 about the event ahead of time, and left in the dark. Of course, if the 'voiced' suggestion isn't reasonable, then just simply explain why, for flame, maybe just lock and prune the thread? But leave the polls up and running, instead of removing/archiving it. The decisions you guys have been making are not as a team, but as a person. The more events that happen such as the previous two, the downfall of MCM will come closer.

So you would agree then, that the main problem starts with the staff themselves not having a voice.
Or at least... Not using it.
The community not having a voice is simply the after-result of staff not utilizing theirs.
Communication.
Between staff members, and between the staff and rest of the community.
Actions being taken without that communication being established first.

Only they, the staff, know why that is.
And only they can amend it.

Yep, the "staff" aren't treated as staff by Mick himself, if there is an update or new feature, he doesn't notify any of the staff, unless he fucked up while doing something.

Let's not go pointing fingers.
Like I said...
Only the staff themselves knows why that is.

Although I agree the community needs a voice, Mick and the other staff members should also have the right to make whatever decisions they feel would benefit the site, not just ONLY what the community wants. If the community wanted Ew unbanned and he got unbanned, that would be chaos for example.

I agree with that, however, when the community wants a change that affects MCM for the better, it always gets removed. An example is the removal of the advertisement, over 90 people wanted that out, and the thread was suddenly archived. The staff needs to fix their own problems, then they can fix the community, otherwise, the community right now is going downhill.

Exactly how do we determine if what the community wants is really for the better or if it's just what the community wants?

Well it all depends, but at the end, only the staff can rationalise it for themselves. As stated, recently, the staff is lacking communication between each other, which caused the staff members to not know what was going on. An example was the xenforo update, which then lead to a 3 day downtime.

We are working on several things within the staff team and forum itself.

Staff communication has been stepping up since the recent team changes.

We will also release some updates to the forum itself soon, many of these suggestions are suggested by members.

Thread locked and archived.
