I was going to deal with iLemon to sell him the OG account: "nvm"
the deal was $115 F&F for the account and he posted that he would buy on my thread
here: http://www.mc-market.org/threads/136052/page-4#post-1538963

I contacted him and I state that we would deal $115 F&F Paypal for the account
however he mentions that he can't pay F&F due to the problem being that he has to pay taxes (?)

I told him we can use a middleman that was on-site to deal safely, however he just loses interest after that? Seems pretty sketchy to me.
I don't see this scam-report worthy at all, but I see it best to warn the community about this.

In my opinion, it seems like he was either trying to chargeback after we had dealed with the account or he was just a timewaster. Both are horrible imo lol.
Does this seem like he was trying to scam? Or am I just flat wrong, you have to admit though, it seems pretty weird that he would just straight up become disinterested after I mention using a Middleman.

edit: he has his profile page private so...that just caught me more off guard.

Or you aren't his friend or family so it wouldn't matter if he wouldn't pay that because of taxes?

Yes, don't you know that's not how they are suppose to go? If someone is dumb enough to chargeback, have enough proof to get them banned here and win the case on PayPal.

Most people who are adults file all payments sent on paypal in their tax returns, so they get their money back etc.. I have dealt with a few people who seemed way more sketchy than he is, and they did not chargeback. He seems like an adult who is not looking to chargeback. Even if he did, you've got enough proof that you can easily win the case. And, you can still chargeback paying via F&F. So, it really is not a big deal as to weather you pay G&S or F&F

Yes you can, but the chances are much larger with G&S
I would much rather have smaller chances of him being able to chargeback, but thanks for the insightful response. Really appreciate it.

I don't see how refusing F&F for tax reasons makes someone a scammer. It IS logical for people with taxable incomes and expenses to want to do things as legit as possible
You could have just offered to do a transaction through invoice. now if he refused THAT, it'd be sketchy. Otherwise not really.

Behave, it is common knowledge (at least in the community I come from) that sending money as friends and family when the payment should be transferred as goods and services can result in negative consequences on both PayPal accounts.

Additionally, if iLemon was being audited, it would be hard to classify the account as a business expense, seeing as he operates a Minecraft-related company.

I do not see how Alex not wanting to (a) risk his reputation with his company's main payment processor, (b) make it harder for himself to classify a business-related purchase as a company expense, and (c) void his buyer protection which he rightfully deserves makes him a "scammer" or "time waster."

He owns 2 massive servers and unlike 98% of MCM he actually pays taxes and owns a large business so he can't just be sending Friends and Family to anyone. Paypal TOS say you can't send Friends & Family and I know we all do that but that has nothing to do with the transaction. He wasn't trying to scam and simply didn't want to use a middle man.

I didn't think about invoice at the time.

Am I missing something? Does MC-M users not deal thru F&F anymore? I feel like many of you are treating it as if it was never a thing.[DOUBLEPOST=1477357398][/DOUBLEPOST]

mhm, I realize that now.
I didn't think he was actually someone who pays taxes.

Accordingly, I wrote an apology to him half an hour ago as it seems appropriate now.
