Companions allows you to easily create your own custom companions, for your players to own. Upon activating a companion, it follows you beside your shoulder and gives you the companion's unique ability.

(Each companions can have any amount of abilities, read the WIKI here to learn how to create your own custom companions.)

/companions (/c) - opens up the companions main GUI.
PERMISSION: companions.player.open

/companions shop (/c shop) - opens up the companions shop GUI.

PERMISSION: companions.player.open

/companions upgrade (/c upgrade) - opens up the companions upgrade GUI.

PERMISSION: companions.player.open

/companions owned (/c owned) - brings up a GUI that shows you what companions you own.

PERMISSION: companions.player.open

/companions toggle (/c toggle) - toggles your active companion back or away.

PERMISSION: companions.player.toggle

/givecompanions <player> <companion name> (/givec) - gives the specified player a companion.

PERMISSION: companions.admin.give

This is just a small update, version is not going to be affected as this plugin is about to launch on Spigot as well.

  • Added a way to edit the left arm of the companion.
  • Changed how playerSkulls are retrieved, it is now retrieved using texture values, click here on a guide on how to use it. - This also mean that companions will be loading way faster as it is cached via mojang's website.
  • Support for 1.8 - 1.13 now.
  • MySQL system now added, in BETA mode. - Everything should work normally though.
  • Fixed some small visual bugs.

Just a small hot-fix yet again, no version changes until Spigot's version is out.

Forgot to add the implementation of MySQL for command /givec, it should be all good now.

Also added a Kirby companion.

Made the companion a little higher, also added the option to configure the location of the companion in config.yml,

Just a small hot-fix yet again, no version changes until Spigot's version is out.

Made it so, when new companions are bought, the initial name is colored gray.

Changed how the click listener works, now you may use the same material in the shop.

Added two new things in the config.yml -

Sorry for the unofficial small update again,

I have implemented so, if the player doesn't have the permission to buy said Companion, it will not appear in the Companion's shop.

Thus, the slots for the buying of Companion is not needed as now, the shop GUI will act like the Companions Owned GUI.

Cleaned up the code.

Removed startingSlot from owned Companions' GUI.

Added a goBack button for the Companion shop,

I have done quite a significant update this time, so I'm going to change the VERSION.
  • Implemented infinite paging system in the shop and owned Companions.
  • Implemented a smart page detection method.
  • Added a new startup message where it tells you how many custom Companions are loaded up,

  • Made it so, if you have database enabled now, your companiondata.yml will self-destruct. Remember to backup when turning on database.

  • Remade the GUI Listener system.​
  • Now, if your material is incorrect, it does not stop the plugin, instead it changes the material into a stone but everything still works as per normal.​
  • Fixed a MySQL active Companion bug where it sets everyone's active companion to whatever you bought/changed​

In this update, I have revamped the custom abilities system.

  • Implemented a few new abilities; DAMAGE_RESISTANCE, FAST_DIGGING, ABSORPTION, LUCK, WITHER, SLOW, SLOW_DIGGING, CONFUSION, WEAKNESS.​
  • Edited the custom ability system so now, there are two categories. "_ATTACK_CHANCE" and "_DEFENSE_CHANCE"​
"_ATTACK_CHANCE" - gives the attackers said ability, usage example; "SLOW_ATTACK_CHANCE" - players who attack another player who has a companion that has this ability would have a chance to get the slowness effect.

"_DEFENSE_CHANCE" - gains the ability when attacked, usage example; "LUCK_DEFENSE_CHANCE" - companion holder would gain the ability, Luck when attacked.

  • Moved all the custom abilities to a new YML called customability.yml.​

  • Fixed the bug where the ability "_ATTACK_CHANCE" won't work on projectiles such as arrows. Now, the shooter of said projectile will get the potion effect.

  • Fixed the shop permission, not accurately showing Companions that you have permissions to.
  • Fixed active Companion bug for MySQL users. - wasn't showing ACTIVE companion in the GUI.
  • Fixed - If /givec was executed on a player that had no Companions prior, it wouldn't allow said player to equip said Companion as their active Companion.
  • Fixed - /removec was not removing the whole of companions_data table for MySQL.
  • Tidied up the MySQL code a little, more to come in the following days.
If you are updating from version 1.4.1, there are no changes in YML files.
