Alright, So, I have a budget of $5000, for a minecraft network, its an investment.

They expect 80% ROI ($9000 back)

I need to know whats the best server to be making at this time, and the best server to make lots back.

Like someone said above, why not invest into something useful? You can create a successful server with only 200$.

You don't even need to do MINECRAFT. Simply because its way too risky.

Someone calculated that for mineplex to have that many minigames and lobbys, the amount they have to spend a month is 5,000 dollars. Double that they have an EU server. Now, 10,000 dollars a month. And thats on the servers HOSTING alone. Not counting all the plugins nor websites. Just server hosting.

So big money is used on networks like that.... with 5000 dollars, you would have to somehow find something completely original and fun to play while making your budget as tight as possible. Good luck.
Are you joking or just plain out stupid? I'm pretty sure he won't be spending 5,000$ on hosting. And Hypixel and Mineplex make that money back.

that calculation would be way off if you are just talking about hosting..

Quite frankly, no one really shared any real piece of advice, so I'll write this here:

Well, first, if people knew a server that could make "lots back", they would make servers off on their own and not share it, considering it's more competition for them.

Here's what I personally think could be effective use of the budget (list). As much as 5k seems like, it's not much if you are actually trying to spend money on a minecraft server.:

  • Make a server with minimal needs (ex: survival with custom theme, graphics, and stuff like that to make your overall server look attractive to players). Overall this idea would be to spend least as you can on the server itself and pour rest of the budget into advertising.

  • Focus on making a familiar gamemode (simply due to 5k budget not being enough to make a completely custom server along with advertisement, and generic gamemodes getting a lot of attention as long as it is done well) with multitude of custom features (The feature ideas would be on you, and it would really decide whether players stay or not). General idea of this would be to spend around half on the server itself and half on advertisement

There are some things to keep in mind:

  • It's always better that you get youtuber with a fairly large audience, and it's best that you have enough to pay for them to record on your server consistently.
  • Attractive graphics are definitely a must as they are genuinely what people see first.
  • Use short, unique, and memorable name.
  • Have a set theme

I have a lot of ideas. I just want the best, where I am guaranteed that back[DOUBLEPOST=1501635279][/DOUBLEPOST]
Thanks.
Little Tip. Not sure if someone has already said this above, but there's little to no such investment that you're guaranteed back. Many errors can happen that aren't included in initial calculations and with one bad move, your $5000 might as well turn into thin air. Investments go a long way ; Risk Vs Reward

I'd suggest making an HCF server & paying Youtubers to upload the trailer, and offering small youtubers in game items, such as Keys if the upload the trailer.
