Hello,
My computer seems to beep once every sunday in the late afternoon.
It has been doing it for about the last 3 weeks, i just had it then at 6:10PM GMT, I actually had one on friday at about 8:10PM GMT and the other two sunday's were about 4:00PM GMT.
These beeps last about 2 seconds and they aren't coming from my speaker, they are like BIOS noises, i have looked up online, i have seen the windows event viewer and nothing. It's coming from my HP laptop, in which i believe the hard drive is where the beep is coming from (due to seeing the side of a different HP laptop) but it isn't a mechanical fault (the sound isn't made from the platter and read head scratching or anything) it's a beep, same length each week.
Please help me, do i have a virus ? I sound so idk squeamish ? But I have seen some stories online about what viruses have done to people's computer, i have downloaded Avast, I also have a spyware thing and everyday it scans and just finds thousands of cookies files (which i believe or all normal) and the next day they all load back up and get deleted again (i think they are just all the adverts I see on websites and everything :p) anyway, please help, i would appreciate :)

It's most likely a bomb within your laptop that's counting down.

On a more serious note: This is quite weird. I haven't heard anything like this before. It's also very unlikely the sound is coming from your hard drive. It's most likely just your BIOS or speaker.

I think the computer that LinusTechTips uses to do the WAN Show used to do something like this, they fixed it with a fresh install of Windows.

It is strange, I break everything i touch. On my old laptop, my webcam light was on for a few months and it didn't really bother me, I checked too see if i had any webcam apps open, didn't. I thought someone might have hacked me and was watching me so I taped it up. Just realised a few weeks ago when i was researching about viruses that there are viruses that can give hackers access to your webcam so they can watch you :/ This laptop I got for my birthday in April, it's been weird in a few ways since.[DOUBLEPOST=1466357693][/DOUBLEPOST]

I could try reinstalling windows tomorrow, thanks for the suggestion :)

Probably reinstall windows, but make sure to write down your key before you do :p
Also back up all your stuff somewhere, so you do not loose it.
