My current specs are pretty old, What if I had okay specs but put a very nice graphics card in? Would that work, I’m not a very good PC nark.

It would work fine, however, at 1080p you likely will not be using the full potential of your GPU.[DOUBLEPOST=1542685800][/DOUBLEPOST]If you send me some info about your current build, I could definitely suggest a the best way to cost effectively upgrade it.

As posted above, try to post a little more (The info like your current CPU) as well as something like what GPU you are looking to pick up. (Like a 1060? 1070?) Just a little more info to go off of.
Thanks! Will check back soon

Also, what motherboard do you have? Some older ones may not support newer GPUs.

Don't be me and have everything else high end but a GTX 1060 3GB. I upgraded from an i5 to a Ryzen 7 2700x with 16GB of corsair vengeance pro ram and 2 TB of HDD storage and 1 TB of storage (512GB M.2 SSD and a 512GB SSD) I may be able to help you out; if you're looking for a good 1080p gaming setup the 1060 6 GB is a very fair price for performance, you could go AMD; although their specs to performance is nowhere near Nvidia. As said above supplying your current PC specs could help us help you :)

Price for performance is Ryzen 3 2200G or Ryzen 3 1200. RX 580 or 1050 Ti is the best way to go, but if you’re on a budget like me a 1050 should be fine. Value >> performance if you’re limited

We need your current specs. If you had decent ones, then yes.
You don't want to bottleneck any of your components though. If you have the money, maybe think about upgrading your complete PC slowly. I'd just get a moderate GPU for now then work on upgrading the rest, that way nothing is bottlenecked and you can effectively use all of it.

Or if you're interested in revamping your PC entirely, maybe give us a price and current specs, then we can see how we can help?
