Hello everyone,

Minecraft has been alive for a very long time and a lot of new things have been tried and even daily more and more unique content comes flooding into the minecraft community - which is totally cool and awesome!

There is however an interesting factor that isn't being considered, and this is a question that I want you to ask yourself right now, so that you can understand in the same way I do why building a unique never seen before server in this point in minecraft is difficult and unprofitable without the right advertising strategies.

The question is a simple one, and it is this:
If you were returning to minecraft, maybe with a friend or by yourself - what kind of server would you look for and what would be the place you look first?

9 times out of 10 the answer is going to be something they've already experienced, something their familiar with and understand. Most people don't want to learn new things on an old game, rather play an old game with a refreshed experience of what they once enjoyed.

More modern factions servers for instance have a high failure rate, where as old fashioned, simple servers tend to do better and this is because of simplicity of builds, design and overall gameplay.

Minecraft is old, and so to really do well in todays market, you need to provide the content that the older players who are returning want to enjoy. Those who already play minecraft regularly are likely already established on multiple servers and converting players isn't easy.

With big titles losing popularity, such as Fortnite and other games, minecraft is getting a steady stream of old players looking for some fun. Make sure that you're there to pick these guys up, and give them the content that they are looking for, instead of some MMO RPG custom amazing quest boss fight loot crate what have you server.

I launched a minecraft server a week ago, and using all of the skills I've accommodated upto this point I spent the very minimum amount necessary and built a successful server. We peaked at 43 players without using generic minecraft advertising strategies. On a good day we average 20 - 30 players online at a time. Our discord server has grown to 187 members, none of which are botted.

Don't waste your time on youtuber ads, or server lists. It works, but not to maximum effect. Save your money and use server lists that have the "new" page very accessible. Post and delete your server as much as possible. Posting a server on some listing sites can have upwards of 200 unique visits. I recommend deleting your server from sites as soon as it falls behind on the new page, and wait the necessary amount of time to post again.

In closing: Ensure that your server is above all else, engaging, but most of all simple. No one wants to walk an eternity to reach the other side of the spawn, to maybe access a shop.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

What do I want from a server if I were ever to play again? Either a prison server that actually manages to incorporate pvp into the mix and not solely make it about grinding out money through mining. The server also needs to actually look and feel like a prison.
