Whenever I try to search for a conversation/PM using the search function it takes me to an error page, only search function that works is searching via user.

I get the same error as well. I feel like this should be a bit more prioritized since it's a semi-essential on the forums.

This is a known issue and a fix has been planned. There is already a bug report for this in pending so we'll just deal with that one and I'll move this to the archives.
