Convert profile vouches to actual reputation

There are still a many of us that actively use MCM that did before the reputation feature was introduced. At the time of writing this, I have 8/0/0 reputation - which doesn’t seem a lot considering how long I’ve been on the site. However, what I, and many others do have is reputation that is displayed on my profile page.

Please allow me, and others, to be able to convert the reputation on our profile pages to reputation visible under the reputation overview.

People can vouch for you and don’t have to rep

Many of us have profile vouches such as “Vouch, sold a domain, was very smooth.”. Comments like these should be able to be replicated onto the reputation system.

How would that work? Besides, there is a distinguishable difference between just leaving a vouch, or writing a reputation. If everything was reputation, reputation would mean something very different.

If I could suggest something, instead of automatically, this could be done by request. Staff could be added into the deal conversation (or screenshots could be sent, screenshare, etc). If they have sufficient evidence that there was a deal that took place, the vouch left on the profile can be turned into a positive reputation.

Chances are they haven't met the requirements to actually leave reputation which is why you are making this suggestion.

I said it’s because there are a few of us that have lots of reputation from deals that were done before the reputation feature was implemented. Not because they “haven’t met the requirements to actually leave reputation”, sir.

Yes but even then, what about the people who have new vouches from right now. It shouldn't be just old members who would be able to get this type of "vouch to rep" conversion if it matters that much if someone says you don't have that much rep just ask them to view your profile.

All old vouches which qualify as reputation should be able to be converted to reputation - and it doesn't matter when the "vouch" was given.

If someone commented on your profile with a vouch before the reputation system was added and haven't been back online since, then you just can't get reputation added to you for that. We're not going to convert old messages from before rep was introduced into reputation, it's up to the users to add it to you when they're on the site next if they do remember the deal.

Old profile posts also don't meet our new reputation requirements (100 chars, image proof, etc).
