Could kindness be considered a strength or weakness?

alright so- this is super vague so I’ll try to put it into a quick sentence that’ll briefly describe what I mean. Basically when dealing with people as a dealer. Would kindness in how you treat people be considered more as a weakness or a strength? Just curious on what your guys opinion is I suppose.

In a “deal” setting it’s a weakness, they can use it to take advantage of you.

Both. It can leave a good impression and make them want to come back, but it can also allow them to take advantage like Sparko said. Just know where to draw the line and you'll have 90% of dealers beat.

It truly depends in my opinion as to what type of person you are and what sort of attitude you want to portray. Obviously certain situations you need to be stern and serious in. However, I do think that clients often come back to the dealer if they seem genuine and generally want to help and support them if whatever needs doing.

There's a difference between kindness and leniance/generosity/naivety which are what others are trying to get at here.

Always be kind to the people you deal with. A lot of them are rude and entitled but if you are kind and stick by that you will be fine. Do not, however, accept unnecessary compromises or cave-ins you have no control over. That would be stupid.

Kindness itself isn't really a weakness. What you fall for is.
