Hey there,

I'm completely new to coding. I know a tiny bit of HTML but I know that isn't relevant. I want to make plugins, but have no prior knowledge. I'd like to dive straight into plugin creation, so is there any courses anyone recommends that I can follow to do so? I know people recommend learning JavaScript or something that makes plugins first, but I'm genuinely curious.

Thanks!

If you want to learn how to code plugins, I would personally recommend you get a general understanding of the Java language first. There are countless different videos, courses, and websites online which can help you out. I would recommend this youtube course and this site. Both are free and should give you a great understanding of the language before you commence developing Minecraft plugins. Keep in mind, there are endless opportunities on how to learn Java, it is entirely up to you which path you take.

Javascript and Java are completely different. As the two above stated, you should really learn Java before "diving straight into plugin creation" as understanding how it all works is key to creating. It's like saying you wanna learn how to high dive without first learning to swim.

My recommendation is to find a Skillshare code online and subscribe to the free month or so (don't pay...) and enroll in a quick Java course. After, you can then learn the spigot and mc api to make plugins with.
