Creative & Unique Plugin Ideas

Hello!

I'm a big fan of free and open source software and projects that strive to help non developers and developers alike in various ways, so I wanted to contribute to that. To start off I made a VPN/proxy check plugin which I'm not too proud of since the idea isn't original and I have to do a re-code of it, but in the meantime my next project that I started was supposed to be another free open source discord based plugin, a discord staff verify plugin, but after I made a bit of progress with it I checked google and YouTube and found some plugins with the same concept which were also open source and free. That kind of ruined my motivation for making it since I saw no real need for it, but I can't do anything else since I've run out of ideas.

So I'm starting this thread to ask you, the community, for some concepts of plugins you'd always wanted to see or some plugins that always had a pay wall over them that you wished were free! It would be nice if your idea isn't too time consuming (meaning it wouldn't take me several months to finish) but if the idea is really good I don't mind! It would also be pretty awesome if the plugin has something to do with discord but that is optional, also plugins like anti-cheats/anti-bots/anti-crashes I can't do since it would take too much of my time to upkeep and and patch!

A plugin to help people create mobs? As the stuff that exists for mods.
Maybe it exists but I haven't found it so far.

I think there is a few plugins that do that (MysticMobs, Elite Mobs, Leveled Mobs and advanced spawners) but its an interesting idea nonetheless! Thank you for your suggestion, I'll add it to my list!

What about a plugin that creates Minigames and such? Something that would be super easy to use and versatile for servers wanting to host a custom experience but with the lack of funding or coding experience.

I actually really like this idea! It would help a lot of people which is what I'm looking for and its not security based so any potential bugs wouldn't be server breaking. This is going on my to-do plugins list. Thank you very much for your suggestion!

I would say a minigame plugin for players to practice speed bridging.

I've been having one somewhat unique idea in mind for a while, but I think it'd have a really low demand among server owners. A private message plugin that is focused on security, it avoids appearing in console log, etc. It logs messages only in encrypted form in separate place and the encryption key can only be accessed by the server owner if the player reported that private message (it could show an ID in hover tooltip of the message with which it can be reported)

obviously this security would be easily bypassable by a programmer, but it's interesting idea

Yes, the demand would be low but also I don't really see the usefulness of the plugin. There are plenty of private messaging plugins that don't show messages in console, encrypting them wouldn't really be needed unless you want to store messages in a database then hashing them would be a pretty good idea. Encrypting would also by useful if you're making a plugin that shares information over multiple servers but as long as players are private messaging each other in the same server the information never leaves the server. I also haven't ever seen a exploit or vulnerability in minecraft server jars that lets someone view messages, unless the server has an infected plugin. That idea would be far more useful on games like Roblox, GMod or FiveM because they have a lot more problems regarding information leaks. Also as for the security being easily bypassed by a programmer part, it depends on the quality of encryption and the quality or skill of the decryptor. All in all a pretty clever idea, thank you for your recommendation!
