Well, there is a simple answer to that:

I have worked fro CrypticMC before it as resold, its second time, and the server has never maintained popularity. At this rate, I think the hostname "crypticmc" has a bad reputation now.
Anyway, with the latest buyers, I have applied to the staff team as administrator. Mostly because I hate being a moderator. I find the job to be very boring, and I feel I have more potential to a server rather than just watching chat. I'm not hating on people who do, it's an important job to keep the chat clean. However, it's just not for me.
I was then accepted as a trial-moderator, (which was expected, you work your way up to the position,) but I guess that's not how it works. Other staff members were hired direct to administrator? Now, coming from a hard-working moderator, (120 hours of playtime,) this upset me. How is it fair that someone who hasn't done anything for the server before is placed directly as an admin, when I applied for it to begin with, and actually WORKED for the position?
Despite my rage, I temporarily quit the server. The owner contacted me and said if I came back he would promote me. (It never happened, but he kept telling me I would be promoted, and then never would.) It went on for 3 weeks until a group of us decided we aren't meant to be pushed around, and receive this type of disrespect. Even when brought to powerful positions' attention, still no action was taken.
The staff, excluding the other 4 of us that quit, are horrid. They lack professionalism, and have no work ethic. I get it, Minecraft is a video game. But, a server is business, and you need educated people for the job. A few scandals have also taken place:
Many staff feel it's okay to tell the lower positions they aren't doing their job. I believe that is wrong, especially to tell me that I didn't. 120 hours of working isn't a pinch of salt to the community and server. I did my job. It's the people who joined once out of the week and did something for once were telling me I did nothing. It was ridiculous.
In later cases, one of the staff began flirting with me, but was fired for other reasons. I did not like this person at all, and I told the owner I would leave if he was hired again. They took a low action, and they concealed his identity with a new account and tried to hide it from all of us. That just shows favoritism right there.
In a nutshell, the staff team needs a lot of work. They need to stop hiring kids, (which the owner is 12 so it can't get any worse,) and they need to take it seriously. At this rate, the plane as already crashed. They have terrible security against people who are out for them, the staff are so disrespectful, and the server itself is basically a generic-downloaded plugins/maps. It's honestly not worth it.
