I'll be sharing what I think about all of you cool crackers that are starting to crack minecon capes and selling them cheap. Making the real value go to hell.

I've pmed Mick about this already with some posible fixes and if they don't work. I'll keep doing my best to find something that must be proven or that you need to have in order to sell a minecon cape. Basically to prove it's not cracked.

I understand the cracking of unmigrated accounts, people that don't play. But an account with a cape? I know he probably doesn't play but his/her parents probably spent $1k+ getting that kid to minecon. Imo it's not fair at all.

Besides that. Always remember that it's an unmigrated account, you might say "so what?" Well you can lose complete access to the account and this wouldn't be a scam nor something that the seller needs to refund you at. Since you buy such items at your own risk. Knowing that it can be taken back. This is why their price is low + the seller gets 100%. He isn't reselling (most of the times) since he's cracking the account and doesn't need to pay anything for it.

The real minecon accounts will be accounts that you'll keep forever!!! + most of the times they have the transaction id included and unmigrated capes or cracked capes will never have it. Unless if the owner cracks the main email as well. The legit minecon accounts are fully yours and super secured, unless if you're scammed.

So this is what I've came with to stop such cracked accounts: When you migrate an account the resgistration date on the mojang site is the date when you migrate the account (I'm not 100% sure but I'll be testing, if not I'll be making another method) so users will need to provide a gif refreshing the site. Showing such date. The date should be around the date of the cape (if you have a 2011 cape then the account should be registered somewhere around that year) if you buy a code and use it on the account. Dates should differ probably, but honestly who will link a code to the account to sell it? Basically no one. So if this is like that and it works, it's the perfect method to stop people from selling cracked minecon accounts. By showing such date. If it's new then it was migrated but cracked. And if someone sells an unmigrated cape. Well... Kinda obvious.

Thanks for reading this, if you have any questions be sure to ask!!

I would and have chosen cheap over secure every time. I'd rather pay $2 for an insecure account then $25 for a new, secure account. The same goes for accounts with capes; although, it is all about profit for them, and you. You're clearly trying to stop the sale of cracked cape accounts so that the price rises and resellers like you make more profit and not because you're worried about the ethics behind which is what it seems like you're trying to convince us of.

It's morally wrong though. And I've never sold a cape that was mine. Like I bought it. It was always by my middleman service. So sir, you are wrong about that accusation.

As much as I agree with what you're saying, if you pass up the opportunity to crack an account of value, the next person will come along and crack it anyway. The more people that stop cracking, the more people that will see the hole in the market and start.
There's flaws everywhere and in anything. It's up to us to fix it or report it if you found it instead of using it for benefit.

The date on the mojang page shows that day the mojang account was created, does it not? So if they went in 2011 then mojang accounts didn't even exist at that point.

Exactly. So it shows the date when the account was created if my theory is correct :)
