custom gamemode ideas which are being overused?

Does anyone else feel like people who are creating custom game modes these days keep on trying to make games based off of other games..? Rarely do you see anybody creating a custom game mode where it is totally custom and not copied from another idea.

Thoughts and opinions on this topic?

yup. but there is a secret to it. if it's based on another gamemode most people will proably understand it faster and keep on playing.
