I was looking into how I could get push notifications on my phone for alerts and messages from MCM and found this. https://www.mc-market.org/wiki/how-to-enable-push-notifications-for-mcm/ the concept is good but the ifttt service (Gmail scanning) isn't a thing anymore. So I was looking around and found this RSS feed. I thought "Hey, IFTTT has an RSS feed service, I can do something with that." But I wanted my alerts and conversations. The RSS feed can allow that with some kind of XenForo addon. If this gets put in, I will edit that wiki page with a new and working method.

To conclude, I think that we should each have an RSS feed that shows our alerts and PMs.
Edit, this isn't something that will put more stress/load on staff or anything like that, users can't input their own information, it will just be the alerts at the top right and notifications like you get at the bottom of the page. Just in push notification format. Or we could make an MCM app ;)

I would believe this falls under the category of API, which Mick/Justis/etc. have said will eventually implemented for Ultimate users (unfortunately).

It isn't something that has to be developed, and it's not an API, they already have it, they just need to give it more info.

Yeah, I wouldn't mind this. There might be an easier way of doing it, but push notifications would definitely make me consider upgrading to supreme.

An RSS feed is so versatile, especially with IFTTT. I would rather that over just an app if I'm being honest.

Since the time this suggestion thread was made we have denied access to that RSS feed page, and probably won't be adding it back again in the future. We're going to be working towards an API once we migrate to XF2, but until then I don't want to allow this when our API is planned to be exclusively for Ultimate users.
