DDoS Protection and Server questions

Hello!
I'm recently getting into server hosting however I honestly have no idea to start.
I am planning on buying an 8gb dedi server which comes with 10gpbs of DDoS protection.

This is what I want to know.
1) Would a 8gb dedi server with a 500gb HHD, 20TB of bandwidth and Dual Intel Xeon 5150 be fine to host a server with 50-150 players?
2) Is 10gpbs of DDoS protection enough? If not, how much is recommend for a 50-150 playerbase? And what site should I use?
3) How can I get a 50-150 player, player base with spending less that 1k, any methods?
