Ddos protection on my server

I am searching for ddos protection on my server (if this is even possible)

I am using reliablesite and am suffering layer 7 attacks. I need a fix for this. Please tell me if I can buy ddos protection for the host, or do i have to switch to OVH.

The ddos protection doesn't protect against layer 7. Open ports are vulnerable.

I'd highly recommend moving to OVH's game dedicated server range, they have L7 DDoS protection included free of charge with that range and it works well.

L7 is notoriously difficult, and even those providers that "offer it" simply won't and can't be perfect. It's an application layer attack, specifically designed to avoid detection by being small in size and highly complex.

I'd recommend talking to the guys at ReliableSite. Their mitigation is an in-house solution, so it can easily be tuned, changed, or added to. RSNET-Radic

You can simply get around this by not hosting the site on the same machine. You can then set up a SRV record for the site and server so you can access it on the same domain (without using subdomains).

Make sure the web server does not access anything from the game server (such as the DB, API or any assets) otherwise someone can literally crash your server by still doing this.
