Hello, I'm going to be getting a server over at wholesale internet and I'm wondering where I can get ddos protection.

You can get dedicated servers from us for around the same price that include free protection if you are interested?

What location is the dedicated server? I know some Voxility partners that can offer some great DDoS protection, but it's only going to be worth it if your server is in a location central to the filtering points.

A lot of "DDoS protection" with a provider is usually pretty bad, or a plain marketing lie. Not all, but a lot for sure.

Psychz offers good DDoS mitigation for dedicated and colocation clients.

I think we used Psychz in the past. Can't say we had any problems, so that statement wasn't directly aimed at them by any means. But you, yourself, know that a lot of DDoS protection claims in the industry are false.

That is true, had MAJOR issues with Staminus back before they were hacked and they were a leader in mitigation but couldn't seem to even stop attacks.
