If the application is Minecraft, TCPShield would be a good choice. If it is just a simple web server then CloudFlare should do the trick.
Ideally though you should choose a provider with in-house DDoS protection as it will save you increasing your latency as mentioned above. Most reputable providers will have in-house DDoS protection these days.

Would recommend switching provider in general. If you are seeking for a cheap vps, ovh would be a good fit for your needs.

Does anyone know a free or cheap service to protect a vps from ddos. I need this since the provider that I use doesn t have a good one.
If it doesn't have a good one, switch. DDoS protection is a necessity.

Just set up cloudflare with argo, load balancing and ratelimit for website. If setup correctly extremely hard to attack.

Which VPS provider are you using? It is a little bit strange for a large provider to not provide any DDoS protection as external protection systems like CloudFlare and TCPShield often increase latency.
I see yall everywhere trynna promote your services, cut it out, its annoying and unneeded

Uh? Maybe you?? I’ve seen you try and low key shit on a host in order to promote yours. No proof no nothing
As you would put this, you're stating this with no proof. May you please provide any of our MCM posts where we "low key S*** on a host"?

https://flightreacts.xyz/i/hofx1.png hey, lets check their trustpilot and post it there. but nono we don't mean they are bad because of it.
We didn't give our opinion on that. Somebody mentioned their trustpilot page but didn't link it, we did that for them.
We didn't say anything about them, only a completely fair and balanced insight from all of their customers.
