Hey everyone.

I wonder will Core i7 7700K is the best option for hosting a huge Minecraft server? I'm currently hosting small servers around 300 - 400 players per day (I can't tell my server name for private reasons). I'm currently using E5-2670, the server is running fine, but sometimes it causes lag, because spawner from players. Since E5-2670 have small GHz, I want to change my CPU.

I wonder what CPU that huge network like Mineplex , Hypixel , CosmicPVP is using?

I cannot speak for Hypixal or Mineplex as we don't host them but I highly doubt they run I7-7700ks. People who require the I7 run large single server (500-600 players per server) instances. They need the high powerful clock speed which the I7-7700K gives.
For instance a server we host had around 360 players on an E3 and ran at 19.xxTPS. When they switched to the I7 which we offered, their server ran 390 players at 20TPS. Of course, this was a very resource intensive server. If you run a resource intensive server the I7 may work well. That said, I7's cost a decent amount and if your current services isn't having any major issues, there may not be a need to change.
