Hi there,

So after snooping through the internet for a few dedicated servers, I found 4 of my choosing that looked very promising for myself and what I will be using them for (nothing bad btw, its more storage and server hosting)

These are what I found

Dedi 1:
- Xeon 2xE5530 @2.4Ghz
- 24GB DDR3
- 2TB
- 1TB Bandwith
- 100Gbps DDOS Prot
- Located in UK
- Priced at £35.00

Dedi 2:
- Intel I7-4970k @4.0Ghz
- 16Gb of DDR3 Memory
- 240GB SSD
- 1TB Bandwith
- 100Gbps DDOS Prot
- Located in UK
- Priced at £65.99

Dedicated 3:
- Intel I7-4970k @4.0Ghz
- 32GB DDR3 Memory
- 2x1TB HDD and 1x240GB SSD
- 2TB Bandwith
- 50Gbps DDOS Prot and advanced firewall prot
- Located In Germany
- Priced at £34.99

Dedicated 4
- Intel I7-7700k @4.2Ghz (Can be OC to near 5Ghz)
- 32GB of DDR4 Memory
- 2x240GB SSD
- 2TB Bandwith
- 60Gbps DDOS Prot
- Located in the UK.
- Priced at £70.00

Dedi 1 and 2 are from the same provider.

Also, For a UK located MC Server, would the 2xE5530 do it pretty much lag free since its 2.4Ghz, Cause CPU is a important factor apart from RAM.

Also, I didn't go for a I7-6700k since the provider I wanted to sell them just ran out of stock, and I didnt wanna pay for OVH.

Anyway thanks for reading, hoping some of you can help me out.

The E5530 would deff be budget due to its lower Passmark score, low Ghz per core. The i7's would be premium. These are assuming you are reselling / hosting MC servers for clients.

Ive already got / found a I7 4970k machine for my hosting, but just wondering since I don't want to oversell to some clients would a E5530 be worth it for MC hosting If I decided to branch off.

If you want to offer the E's are 1$/gb then meh, I know people use Dual X5650's for budget and that works fine. However the E5530's wouldnt be too practical for larger #'s of clients.

Alright thank you, also do you think a Intel Xeon E3-1245v2 would be good for MC hosting? 4c/8t @3.4Ghz, 32GB DDR3

Sorry for the questions. I am more of Source Games person so I know what Source Servers need to run at maximun efficentcy. I'm not a massive Minecraft server person but there was some demand for it when I asked people

It shouldnt do TERRIBLE, decent passmark score. I assume you are using Hertzner as a reseller?

Personally, I would stay away from legacy hardware. These days you can pick up some newer equipment for around the same price if not less.
