Dedicated server - HELP & Advice

Hello,

I'm needing a dedicated server for my HCF server.

How many servers are you running: 1
How many players: 200 - 300 on SOTW (start of the world)

I also need a setup as I know nothing about dedicated servers.

If anyone could fill me in and what plans I should go for and help for setup, that would be great.

meloncube ddos midagation is terrible for smaller servers its great but for 50+ player i would never go with such a low tier host

No idea how it can be terrible for small servers and good for big servers but what ever. And I don't know what you mean by low tier, just about all host are the same level, from my experiences MelonCube has the least amount problems and good specs..

melon cube servers will not hold up very well with 50+ people

I don't see why not, they never lagged at all on mine and I peaked at 25-30 with 50ish plugins.. They have really nice specs, better than most. Not to mention their DDoS protection isn't terrible, it's shared, like everyone elses.

Ok i dont think you know but he is opening a hcf server the hcf community is full of scumvbags, when i opened my beta map 1 we had a 450Gb/s ddos attack sent to us and we were using a dedi from ovh we also had 300 players on melon cube could barely handle that plus the hardware is outdated

MelonCube is using OVH's protection, hell I think they're reselling OVH dedis... OVH dedis are also shared DDoS protection, not guaranteed. Their hardware isn't out dated at all.

What server host would you use over MelonCube then, if there DDoS migration is that terrible? Exclude OVH.

How do you know Melon's Cubes hardware is outdated?

And that wouldn't be able to run 200+ players with those specs?

Could any eleborate on this? Because I'm using meloncube atm, I want to make sure I pick the right one.

5GB, but I cancelled my plan and got my refund, now looking for another host, but I need to be convinced, literally any host which has good hardware + ddos protection (good reputation) I'll go for it, just I need hosting knowledge from the community.

Not for what I need sorry! Please read my thread and if they are great, explain why? explain their specs, why are their specs good, how much ddos protection do they provide? and last time I checked in with them they only give 40Gbps to all servers.

Just checked and you are right about the ddos, thought they had more though. Why not just go with OVH? Get a dedicated server to your self as well as DDOS protection which you can even purchase more from a 3rd party.

I don't have a budget for dedi's atm, looking for shared.
If I was to get a VPS it would have to be cheap and I would also need help [DOUBLEPOST=1489782621][/DOUBLEPOST]I may use https://clovux.net/, has any used them or know anything about these guys?

Currently now looking for a VPS host that has the following:

Strong DdoS protection - (Atleast 480GBPS or even more)
Outstanding support (state your support timings to how fast you reply to tickets)
Premium hardware (explain how powerful your hardware is, how updated is it, is it reliable?)
I'll be handling over 200 - 300 players on my server, can your host handle it? Don't just post your hosting just because you want to advertise it.
