Hello,
I'm switching from Google's Cloud hosting and moving to OVH hosting. I was wondering if you I could get opinions in which is better.

All depends on what its use is. Personally, I've used OVH for a while now, and I've never been disappointed. With that being said, I'm unsure what the quality is like with Google Cloud. Try comparing prices, hardware, and customizability. Anyways, good luck with whatever project you're taking up. :D

Of course Dedicated Servers are better because your resources are dedicated (= available ONLY for you)
In the end, it depends on the service provider and sort of virtualization.
OpenVZ for example can be easily oversold and you cannot really call it a "virtualization". These are just linux containers, KVM virtualization however are something completely different - It is as kernel module available and even better on the "hardware" itself than on other virtualizations (OpenVZ e.g.). Thus, you get a lot of more performance when it comes to KVM than OpenVZ servers would offer you.

Of course, you will never be able to "hit" the performance a dedicated server can bring you. In the end, it is everyone's own decision if they go for dedicated or shared resources.

Dedicated servers will always be better. Due to them being dedicated.
Although Dedicated will be pretty expensive next to VPS hosting.
It all depends on what you're going to use it for. If it's something small, there's no need to pay for a whole dedi.
With OVH, they use KVM, so I would say there is no different between them.[DOUBLEPOST=1497893396][/DOUBLEPOST]

By this is ment that you are not sharing resources with anyone because of the fact that it is KVM.

What are you going to be hosting? Pointless having a dedicated server if you're just hosting a website or something.
