I don't suggest also getting other CPUs Non-other than Intel Xeon E3 since they have high singlethread and server grade ;)

I highly disagree with Craft on that one..... There are so many CPU out there that beat Xeon CPU. Xeon is is the entry level CPU for sure.

check out these two models we have in the price range you are looking for.

2x Intel Xeon Dual-Core X5260 3.33GHz 16GB ECC Registered 2x 146GB 15K RPM SAS/250GB 7.2K RPM SATA $70/month

Your perfectly an idiot. Lack of knowledge, I don't know why would you suggest those shitty CPU. minecraft is singlethreaded, the higher the better. Even George can prove your an idiot. Check those single thread performance on those cpu and compare it into intel xeon e3-xxxx. You have lack of knowledge, if your a sales, good luck with your job, your gonna fool alot of people ;), go on spigot and say those things.

BensDaMan i smell a idiot here, help!

Them CPU's are only good for hosting lots of small servers with 1-50 players. If you wanted to host a server with over 150 players on them CPU's it would crash and lag.
Also depends on plugins and the things he will put xD

I mean you can prove that Intel Xeon e3 are better than those CPUs..

You are incorrect when this comes to single thread performance.. E3 12xx's and i7 47xx's are the most powerful for sure.

You can check out QuantaHost dedicated hosting. They have everything at the right price

Nice affiliate link, good to know you're smart enough to buy from an OVH reseller lmfao.

I never said those CPU were better then the Xeon CPU, i ALSO never said I was talking about minecraft....
I said there are lots of better CPU out there in the Xeon's Xeon for sure are great for minecraft.... But you would never use something with such slow clock speeds for other things...

Minecraft uses little to no CPU at all it is such a ram based game its almost stupid...

On my Personal home Computer running a I7-4790k I hosted 100 players plus and my cpu sat at around 22% with 16gbs of ram and 20 plugins.

Just to clear things up, Minecraft is actually very CPU intensive, and requires a processor with a decent single threaded performance to run to an acceptable degree (due to it being primarily single threaded).
It's a common misconception that RAM is most important due to hosts selling servers per GB of RAM (as it's the easiest resource to limit/sell by), when in fact it's entirely possible to get 50+ players on 1GB. It's all down to how powerful the CPU is.
Almost any E3-12xx or E5 CPU should suffice, as well as i5 and i7 CPUs, as long as they have a decent single threaded performance.

they go off clock speed more then anything, But you are wrong they are not CPU intensive at all. all our Staff members are college graduates. I personally went to school for Computer Science, we are three years into this kind of Hosting our company has just been in beta and doing local work and started to go world wide so we have lot's and lot's of testing behind our work. But we are very grateful for the feedback to help make us a better company!

Actually you're wrong, clock speed doesn't really mean much when it comes to performance for Minecraft servers.
Take the CPU you quoted earlier, Xeon X5260 at 3.33GHz which has a single thread benchmark of 1408, according to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/
Now take the Xeon E3-1285L v3 at 3.1GHz which has a single thread benchmark of 2343 and outperforms the X5260.
Generally you'd want to look for CPUs with a higher clock speed, but this isn't always the case, you really need to pay attention to the single thread performance.
Minecraft servers aren't that CPU intensive until you put them under significant load with players and plugins.

I have looked at that site many times, But we are both hosting of two companies I am not going to sit here and rebuttal you.

Best of luck to you all!
