Hello MCM,

I currently run a 4 slot private 7 days to die server for my friends and I. The host I am currently with offers a great deal at $4 for 4 slots but recently we have been running into lag spikes during the bloodmoon hordes (hordes of zombies spawn in game every 7 days). So because of this I am looking to upgrade and get a dedicated server. Here are the specs I'm looking for:

CPU high clock low cores
8-16gb memory
20gb ssd
North American location

I am open to vps servers as well that meet the specs.
Budget is around $20

You’re not going to get any sort of dedicated server that’s suitable for hosting MC for $20/m. Period.

With that budget, I’d suggest looking into a VPS with ~8G memory instead. They should suit your needs far better and offer better performance as well.

Okay, still same idea though. You're not going to get a good dedicated server for hosting any single-threaded game for $20.

Servers under that budget are mainly atoms and very old processors with low core clocks that hosts are offloading. You won't find anything for high-performance game hosting with that budget.

Same idea applies to the VM's - the host machines are several times more powerful and will offer better CPU performance at lower prices.

You could ask Host4Fun, contact their support and maybe they can configure you a custom vps. The owner is quite friendly
