False negative reps are a huge problem, and can seriously harm business for someone who receives it. I just got falsely repped twice by the same person - even though his first one was removed by the MCM staff, he decided to post another one. This can make one wonder, “Why isn’t there some kind of rate limit to how often you can neg rep the same person?”

My suggestion is to implement a restriction that would prevent the same person from placing a negative rep on the same user’s profile after their rep has been removed by the staff. This restriction would last for a day or two after the removal of the previous rep. This way, people can’t continuously leave negative reps even after they have been deemed false by the staff.

Another way this type of thing could be implemented is by introducing a moderator-approval system on negative reps. Basically, if a negative rep has been previously removed by staff, then for an amount of time afterward, further negative reps on the same person should require approval from the moderators.

May I add, abusing the reputation system is punishable, this will make it easier for staff to reputation from a user and not have to immediately do it again.

It's mainly to help the staff member and prevent spamming the reputation system. You obviously can wait a few days, but who's going to wait 2 days to add another negative reputation? Not many people will, and if they do they simply get suspended. Plus, if you have something to add to the negative reputation that IS TRUE, you can simply go ahead without having it removed once more.
Thats a better explanation i'd understand if it was for a staff member but there are other reasons

In my opinion instead after his false rep is removed if he tries to repost it, it needs to be approved by the moderator for an amount of time.

Having it approved by a moderator could be another means of deterring another false rep. Shall I add that to the original post?

Having a moderator approve the rep he posts on someone's reputation is a better way of preventing spam.

but only applies for an amount of time ofc.

and yes.

Oh yes also in this case it won't require to pay for anything.

the approval part is provided by the addon.

Yes, I believe adding a moderator approval after an amount of time is way better. A moderator can deny it and move on. Simple

The only problem there is we are understaffed.

That shouldn’t be a problem. It’s more of a deterrent for people looking to repetitively post negative reps because then they have to wait even longer for a response

Not really, as scam reports are behind. If you've opened a scam report & have proof, posting a neg rep is useful for letting the community be aware of actual scammers

Last part. Staff might say "Oh, open a scam report!", and deny the rep from being submitted

They wouldn't do this. Reputation is your opinion on a user whereas Scam Reports are for users who have violated site rules.

Furthermore, moderator-approval only applies to the negative reputation given to a user in a given timeframe after the first was deleted by staff.

3 times maximum.
The second and third time, user should add more proof as to why the other user deserves a neg rep. 3rd time should be staff approved before-hand.

If someone continually adds negative reputation against a user that is invalid after being told to stop they will be warned for abusing our reputation system. I don't see why we should spend custom development time on a system for such a specific issue when there is already a fairly simple solution to the problem in the form of warning points.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
