Delete or hide threads/replies made by banned users

I think looking at threads and seeing that grey box saying this user has been banned for blah blah just looks horrible. I think there should be a dropdown in preferences or above the individual forums (or threads) where the user can select whether they want to see these posts by banned users.

If people don't like this idea then maybe banned user's posts could be seen by default (like now) and there could be an option for hiding these posts.

I just think that this idea allows for more choice and looks cleaner. Could maybe even be added to the premium rank.

Why? It's just a user defined preference and it isn't harming anyone else if I hide banned users' comments from my view.
