usually the other party should be notified, not notify myself that i did something

it's there to tell you that the action went through, and the reputation did in fact delete
i'm sure it alerts the other party, too

... what? People are notified when rep is removed/edited, Timmy was talking about editing a forums message. I'm saying rep is important, and going against his suggestion of removing the alert.
