Okay okay okay.
We all mess up in the shoutbox.
Jkaay we're looking at you kek

Basically, I propose that MC-Market should add the ability for Supreme, or Premium members, or w/e you want, to be able to delete their shoutbox messages.
(These can only be the ones visible, not like go back in history
like the time warp trio you used to watch in school and delete it.)

This would help cut down spam a lot, and I mean a lot. Like sometimes I spam emoji's just for the fun of it
like i'm some teenage girl on instagram

Yeah, so let me here your ideas on this.

EDIT: EVERY SINGLE TIME, I come onto shout box, somebody tries to whisper, and it fails, and sometimes they release private info such as a project they are working on, or they just don't want other to see it.

EDIT #2: If this becomes some sort of abuse. Then staff should be able to view deleted messages in history, but members cannot.

EDIT #3: This is now a community discussion, so we can show Mick why we need this. We need to explain in full depth of why this would help, and just encourage him to approve this!

Thanks,
Mango. :p.

About the limit.
I have posted something before, but didn't notice it until like 1-3 minutes later.

This is a good idea, however as you said, staff should be able to see deleted messages. Also, when messages are deleted they should be replaced with "<deleted messages>" or something similar as it would be confusing with messages suddenly disappearing all the time.

Shoutbox is for upgraded members only, so it should be a supreme feature.

Yeah.. coming from previous experiences, it deletes the message from the archive too (not sure about a soft delete).

This isn't the best idea, since someone can post... let's just say porn in the shoutbox, and delete it without getting caught because no one can report the message.

Then we need to find a way so it saves it inside of the archives.

A good portion of the ways that users are caught breaking the rules is through the chat report system.. the chat moderators are certainly not going to sift through the chatbox archive to see if anyone is breaking the rules.

Suggestion #1: dont put sensitive info in SB, not even through whisper. Use PM's.
suggestion #2: instead of 'deleting' the message, the content of the message is censored upon deletion ("deleted message" will show up).
So that people can still report it, but any sensitive info leaked that way will be invisible to normal users.[DOUBLEPOST=1484694168][/DOUBLEPOST]

21217 if you're going to disagree with my argument, the least you could do is have enough nerve to come up with a counter arguement. :p

Why do you pretend to be someone you're not by using someone elses profile image? Honestly I've seen this image more times than I've had breakfast.

She is a catfish.
But yes also off topic.

To OP, I love this idea.
For the sole purpose of confidentiality, it's a good idea when really needed.

Some sort of log or cooldown would be perfect to prevent abuse.

So then all bannable offenses could still be searched up by admins.

Just to give an update on this since it has been 2 and a half years since I put it in pending:

This is still a project I would like for us to implement in the future, and it is currently queued for us to develop. At the moment we have ~20 things in the queue to be developed before this (including tiny bug fixes and massive section overhauls), so I wouldn't really expect that this is going to be implemented too soon unless we decide to implement another feature to chat soon and bunch this in with that. I would like to implement this in a way so that Ultimate users are able to soft-delete their messages, which hides them from everyone except for staff members.

We have a really huge development backlog, and so we currently have 3 developers working on projects for MCM to try and get our backlogs down and allow us to push out announcements more regularly.

Thank you for your patience with us implementing this feature.
